Shanae and I had Thanksgiving at a sorority! Before you raise your eyebrows too high, let me explain. Some members of the branch are sorority parents. In total there were about 40 people there, both members of the branch and friends of friends. The turkey acted as a numbing agent, thus the daized look. The food was awesome and it was great to not worry about preparing any food, just eating it! You may be wondering about the picture of me next to the girl in pink. Bridget is a girl that Shanae works with that she approached about the church. Bridget wanted to learn a little more so we were able to introduce her to some members of the branch,the senior missionaries, and the sister missionaries. Her thanksgiving gift was a Book of Mormon.

TURKEY SWIM! There is a branch tradition here where members wake up early Thanksgiving morning and jump in Cayuga Lake. To give you an idea of how cold the water was, the air temperature was 38 degrees. You may not be able to see, but there was still some snow on the ground, though most of it had melted the previous week. There were 7 of us in total who jumped in; three girls and four boys, including me. Shanae did not get in. She was cold just standing there.

Some deer have decided that our backyard makes a comfortable bed! For about the last week we have seen them every day. The pumpkins still left over from Halloween are apparently too much to resist.

New York City Trip!

So we went to the city for the first time two weekends ago. We had a Blast! The first thing we did was eat NYC pizza! The second thing we did was go to the Manhattan Temple. We were two of the four people in the session. It was so cool to see the Temple in the middle of such a cray and hectic city. We were walking past Central Park looking for the Temple, shoulder to shoulder with millions of people when we looked up and saw the Angel Moroni. After getting mixed up and getting dressed in the Temple Workers dressing room (if you go to this Temple make sure you go to the fifth floor and not the fourth floor) we went back to our hotel. We stayed at the Westin at Times Square. It was so cool to be there right in the middle of everything. We were there for Ben's Hotel Show for school, but only went to three hours of the convention and the rest of the time was spent sight-seeing! We did a two hour boat tour around Manhattan. We saw the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge,the Intrepid Ship and much more. It made me very sick. While Ben was at a dinner for the Hotelies I went to the Broadway Show Chicago. It was good, but very skandalis. The women wore very revelaing clothing and they made some "Mormon Jokes", but the singing and dancing was great! We tried to get on the Today Show, but woke up too late. We hope to go back and visit next May when our parents come to visit!
