Hey everyone! Before you get too freaked out by the picture of me in the tub (I'll explain later) let me defend myself by saying that I am vehemently opposed to it, but its hard to change the mind of a pregnant woman. Shanae and I, along with 4 other friends (2 from school and 2 of their friends from school the year before) went to Emerald Isle, NC for Spring Break. Shanae and I went there for our honeymoon and decided that it would be a good destination for our baby-moon. Of the 7 days we were there we got 2 warm sunny days in the 70s, one that was sunny but a little cold, and 4 days that were cloudy and cold. Our first day in NC we went to church in Morehead City, then for a walk down to the pier. We watched some of the surfers, saw a guy catch a shark, and saw some surfacing porposes. On Monday Shanae and I went to Fayateville to visit Shanae's cousin Jocelyn, then to Varina (Raleigh suburb) to visit my grandparents. We went to the aquarium the next day and had some seafood at Sanitary. Finally, the sun came out. I welcomed the day with a 10K run, then we all went down to the beach for some fun. We built sandcastles, played football, softball, and ultimate frisbee, and soaked up some much needed rays. On Thursday we took a ferry to Shackleford banks. The island is uninhabitated by humans, but 500 years ago the spaniards crashed and left some beautiful mustangs that have survived throughout the years. Shackelford is also known for its wonderul shelling. We found conch shells, nautilus', and sand dollars. One person from our group also found several star fish. I would say that the trip was a huge success and the relaxation was a gift considering our current schedules. We enjoyed the company and look forward to doing a similar trip again. ( I am so grateful to be back in Ithaca, where it is snowing, NOT!)
***Almost forgot about the bathtub picture. Shanae and I do not have a bath tub and our rental home had a jacuzzi tub, so I decided to jump in. However, we forgot to get any bubble bath at the store. Shanae thought it would be a great idea to just use regular hand soap. The tub jets worked to expand the amount of bubbles to the point that the tub was overflowing and I was progressively being submerged by the mounds of bubbles. Just as I was getting the bubbles under control Shanae entered and began taking picutres. I decided to playfully frolic in the bubbles, not knowing that my escapades would be plastered across the endless expanses of the internet. That'll teach me!

Feeling Large and in Charge! 20 1/2 weeks!
So I am feeling very big. I know there is a lot more still to come, so I am told by my mom! I can feel our little girl moving around so much now. Ben felt her for the first time two days ago! He is very impatient when it comes to putting his hand on my belly and holding it there for a minute or two so he can feel her move. Her leg was up high next to my ribs where there is not much cushion and so we could see her little foot kicking me for two hours. I will never eat a snickers, Gatorade, and ice cream within a few hours of each other ever again! I think she and I both felt the effects of the sugar rush! It is so crazy to feel her inside me. I can't wait to see her and teach her. We are doing great and having fun looking for baby stuff. We leave tomorrow morning for our beach trip to Emerald Isle in North Carolina. We can't wait to get out of Ithaca again. Ben is ready for another break from school. He only has a two more months left of school!

BRING ON THE PINK!!!

So looks like I am gonna have to teach a girl how to flyfish. That's alright though, because they usually have a softer touch when dropping a dry fly. Seriously, Shanae and I are super excited to have a girl. During the ultrasound our litle girl did a full backflip. We are thinking if she is that athletic when she gets older we will send her to China to train. She was touching her toes and and crossing her legs (after we saw she was a girl, obviously). BRING ON THE PINK!!!
